There are experiences you don’t just live… you feel them, they transform you, and they ripple outward.
For two weeks, Sara from Australia and Michela from Italy chose to do international volunteering in Peru, specifically in Huancayo, in the heart of the Andes. They arrived as strangers. They left as friends. And in between, they made a meaningful difference in the lives of many.

Their journey was part of a social, educational, and medical volunteer program in Peru, working directly with vulnerable communities.
Sara supported a project with elderly people in the neighborhood of Ocopilla, organizing recreational activities, light sports, and community gatherings. Sometimes, a simple game, a short walk, or sharing sweets was enough to turn an ordinary afternoon into a joyful memory. Volunteering with older adults is not just about assistance — it is about presence, listening, and restoring dignity.
She also contributed to an educational project with children, helping with homework support, academic reinforcement, and fun learning activities. Here, volunteering in education in Peru means creating spaces where learning becomes enjoyable and every child feels supported.

In addition, Sara worked with teenage girls who are young mothers living in a shelter. Through sports and recreational activities, she helped create safe spaces where they could release stress, strengthen their confidence, and feel accompanied.
Michela joined these same social and educational projects, and she also supported children with disabilities. Her work showed how inclusive volunteering can have real impact: patience, empathy, and commitment that translate into small steps forward — which, in reality, are big victories.
This is what international volunteering in Huancayo, Peru offers:
- Direct work with vulnerable communities
- Social, educational, and medical support projects
- Authentic Andean cultural immersion
- Real impact, even in a short period of time
- Personal and professional growth

Two weeks were enough for both volunteers to understand something essential: volunteering is not only about helping others — it is about connection. About stepping outside your comfort zone. About discovering a new culture. About realizing that service transforms the volunteer as much as the community.
Huancayo is not just a destination; it is a life-changing volunteer experience in the Peruvian Andes, where nature, culture, and social commitment come together. Here, every day matters. Every action counts. Every volunteer makes a difference.
If you are looking to volunteer in Peru, join social, educational, or medical projects, live an authentic cultural experience, and contribute in a meaningful way — this is your place.
The next volunteer could be you.

Take the step.
Travel. Connect. Serve.
Come to Huancayo and be part of the change.
