Constructing Change

As of February 2010, San Pedro de Saño generously donated a plot of land to construct a center of assistance and volunteer house to benefit our CASA program. This building will be equipped with resources to promote education and child development in this small town outside of Huancayo, Peru where extreme poverty still lingers. Currently, Expand Perú is raising funds and creating blue prints in order to begin construction on this project.

The center of assistance is to include:

  • A library stocked with a variety of books and learning materials
  • Three different classrooms
  • An extensive computer lab

The volunteer house is to serve as an accommodation for volunteers who participate in this program. This house will include:

  • Three bedrooms
  • A fully functioning kitchen
  • A bathroom

In the past, Expand Perú’s CASA program has been limited by short term leases in towns around Huancayo. For this reason, CASA has moved from town to town only able to stay a year at a time. These two buildings will allow us to permanently remain in the city of San Pedro de Saño in order to work with the children in this town year after year which in turn will allow us to have a bigger impact.

Expand Perú has increased its fundraising efforts and enlists your help to make this dream a reality. One dollar at a time we truly can construct change that will offer a better future for each of the children we serve.
